The Rebel in the Bud is a psychological novel written across thirty-five years. It is a multidimensional work drawn from the ordinary life of an Earthling at 45 degrees latitude — part prose, part verse, and structured less as a narrative than as an autopsy of a soul searching for unlived moments.

The novel opens with a prologue on the ontology of sorrow, a meditation on the void as a force rather than an absence. Part One descends into matter: a cosmic consciousness chooses the density of the physical world and finds a decaying house on the edge of a cliff, full of the trapped voices of human fates.
